This is a special place where I encourage children of all ages (even kids at heart) to keep their pencils sharp! As I continue to write I find such enjoyment as I see the pencil sharpener fill up with lovely curls of pencil shavings. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment as I empty it out. I am highly motivated to fill it up again! I anxiously and curiously look forward to seeing how my pencil moves about on the pages.

It is my hope that children around the world rise up to the challenge of keeping their pencils sharp! Kids, what special story does your pencil want to write? Keep track of your pencil shavings and celebrate each time your sharpener gets full. If you can fill up a jelly jar with shavings, I wanna hear about it!
